Message	it to be safe, as your arms can flail in a roll over. That being said, I prefer tops out if the sanctioning body allows it. I don't think the clip in portion would work, as there's only two pins holding it on the ends. I doubt it'd make a huge difference in rigidity that you would notice anyway.
